Following a competitive procurement process, Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) and Electricity Settlements Company (ESC) have awarded EMRS, the wholly owned subsidiary of ELEXON Ltd, a contract for three years to provide metering assurance services for the Contracts for Difference (CFD) and Capacity Market (CM) arrangements.
From 1 September 2016, EMRS will ensure that the metering installed by CFD Generators and Capacity Providers meets the appropriate standards. We will also undertake a range of ‘desk based’ and ‘on site’ checks to ensure that legislative and contractual metering standards are met. EMRS has outsourced these metering checks to Siemens plc, who worked closely with us to put the bid together.
We have been providing interim metering assurance services for LCCC and ESC since April 2015. This contract highlights the role that we play in the energy sector and how we’re able to apply our skills, knowledge and expertise to the service of the industry.
